"The Watershed"

To help preserve the water quality of Damariscotta Lake and to keep the phosphorus flow from my property to a minimum, I pledge to:

1) Keep or plant a vegetation buffer along my property.

2) Avoid using excessive fertilizers and herbicides on my lawn.

3) Pump and/or check my septic system regularly.

4) Check my driveway, road and property for signs of erosion and correct any problem areas.

5) Dispose of oil, paint and other chemicals properly-not on the land or into the septic system.

6) Minimize any site disturbances and use erosion screen when doing construction or earth moving.

Furthermore, for safety of others and to minimize erosion from boat wakes, I will observe that Maine Law of No Wake Zone within 200' of any shore.
