"The Watershed"

The success of DLWA depends on everyone within the watershed community. As a resident, business, or visitor in the watershed, you play a critical role in the future of Damariscotta Lake.

The path to action is twofold: first, becoming informed and educated about the Lake's issues allows you to respond in a way that is suitable to your individual needs and interests. Second, being a responsible citizen involves taking appropriate action. Listed below are some ways in which you can become a vital participant in Damariscotta Lake's future!

DLWA provides opportunities to become educated on issues affecting the watershed as well as avenues to pursue positive action. Take time to read our quarterly newsletter, which is distributed, to all DLWA members and landowners in the watershed. Visit the DLWA's office, located at 8 Village St. in Jefferson, where we have a growing collection of books and resources that are available in our lending library. Throughout the year, we sponsor events that involve education and fun for everyone. DLWA sponsors a variety of workshops to involve and inform people of issues in our watershed. In the past, topics have included buffer planting, camp road maintenance and more. Plan to attend one or more of these workshops. Throughout the year DLWA sponsors public walks on DLWA properties. Join us on these walks which are typically informal gatherings that allow camaraderie and enjoyment of the land. To check for upcoming activities, please see our Calendar of Events.

If you are interested in becoming a DLWA volunteer, contact DLWA at 207-549-3836 or print out the DLWA Volunteer Opportunities Form and send it to us through the mail.
